Wow! What a wonderful week of video audition submissions. Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Annie KIDS. This was our first time doing virtual auditions, so thank you all for being flexile and dealing with technology. If you don’t see your child’s name on our list, your video may not have been submitted properly, so please reach out to: HAA@harringtonartsalliance.org. I would be more than happy to add your child to our cast.
We had so many new faces audition, which is always wonderful to see. The competition was very strong, which created difficult casting decisions. Our production staff did a great job navigating the complex waters of casting. During the summer we have our student directors work on the two children’s musicals. This year we have a great team: Jaxson Liscano-Garcia (Director and Vocal Director), Oliver Mettler (Assistant Director), Morgan Suit (Choreographer) and Emma Haley (Production Manager).
There are LOTS of parts and LOTS of great opportunities in this show. Actors will be added to all dances, to allow for more stage time.
Our first rehearsal is Monday, July 6th from 3-5:30pm. Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday from 3-5:30pm with performances on July 24th at 7pm and July 25th at 2pm and 7pm. During our first cast meeting we will read through the script, discuss characters, the rehearsal schedule and delve right in to rehearsing.
With all the uncertainty going on in our world, we have high hopes we can have a fun-filled summer with our children’s shows. We truly hope we will be able to rehearse and produce Annie KIDS like we’ve scheduled for a year. If anything changes, we will be doing all communication through email, so please make sure we have the right email on file for you.
Thank you for allowing your child to audition. We all need the arts more than ever right now. At HAA we will be following all safety measures and cleaning protocols, so your child will feel safe.
Again, I was so proud of all who auditioned. It was a great turnout. I was also proud of our production staff for casting through a virtual platform, which is not easy.
YOU MUST ACCEPT OR DECLINE YOUR ROLE BY 7pm May 2nd BY EMAILING: HAA@harringtonartsalliance.org
Please let us know if you decide to decline your part ASAP, as that changes the dynamics of the rest of the cast and we will need to move things around. Thank you and congrats to all!
